This unit is extremely easy to program. There is no latency, clicking or sound cutting out when switching between patches. I don’t notice and sound coloration due to the unit. It’s got some weight to it and feels solid.Only quirk is that if you select the same patch twice it bypasses all your pedals. This may be useful for some folks, but not my thing. The only questionable aspect is that all the 1/4” connectors appear to be soldered to the circuit board, they’re not screwed to the cassis. This makes them more prone to failure.I plan to mount this and my pedals to a Voodoo Lab Dingbat Small EX pedalboard as 18” x 10” is perfect to have 5 pedals above the unit. A Pedaltrain Metro would probably work well too for this switcher and pedals. It does what it says it is supposed to do. I've read some negative reviews which appear to me to be unfounded. I have no complaints. Look up the German youtube video series on these products. They're very well done and are so detail oriented that they may provide too much information. An overall great product. It does what its supposed to do. The inclusion of patch cables are a fantastic add-on. If only they would add a 9v power cord.Absolutely love this thing! It made changing effects live so much easier!i just use three banks, its like 12 presetsI've found the PLX8 so useful and reliable, I had to give it a review. First, let me say I've owned this unit for 5 years, and it has worked flawlessly. It basically allows you to route 8 effects or groups of effects through this switcher, choose which of those effects or groups of effects are to be included in a patch, and then save about 32 of those routings, or scenes, in 32 slots that you can recall using the footswitches on the PLX8. I use it on my pedalboard to set up and save routings designed for recording, for FOH, for an amp, or for looping, or to save a grouping of effects designed for use with a Leslie cabinet, etc. I even use the PLX8 to place one DITTO looper both pre-effects AND post-effects, saving each as a different routing. Admittedly, that took the creative use of some "Y" cables, but it wasn't hard. My first slot on my PLX8 is a BYPASS of the entire pedalboad. The system works great for signal matching. Enjoy!Let me tell you what it won't do. It won't turn your effects boxes on or off. It will only include (or exclude) the effect in a preset chain of effects of your choosing, and save that chain for one-button recall. If an effect you want off is in a chain you saved in the PLX8, either turn the effect off directly on the pedalboard, or create and save a new PLX8 routing that excludes it.If this sounds useful to you, get this product. It's a bargain, and you won't regret it.
