But I'm taking away a star for really cheap velcro. The shoes are now not wearable because the velcro is a mess.My little one is an ideopathic toe-walker, and these keep his heels nice and flat. They are his main school shoes. They are comfortable, supportive, and are holding up to the 5-year-old wear and tear! Very good purchase!I bought these for the Fall 2022 school year. After 2 weeks of use I thought it would be prudent to wash them on a gentle cycle and dry with low heat - separate of all other items. After the 1st wash, 1 shoe was completed deformed and unwearable. I am now trying to see if the seller will acknowledge these things happen from time to time and replace the shoes free of charge / accept an exchange or return for full refund even though the window has expired for returns. I am a busy Mom and this has been on my to do list for several weeks. Our family is doing our best to hedge against inflation and return products which break after a few uses. It would be good customer service to get a 'nod' that cheap manufacturing defects occur and help a young family out.I bought this last year for my son when he was in kinder and it was light, good protection, and durable for a very active kid. He would also use it during his kungfu classes besides school. It lasted him a year with abusive use. I got another one now that he is in 1st grade. The seller was also attentive to detail and even contacted me to remind me that i'm buying the same size last year which averted the hassle of requesting for an exchange. I will keep buying these shoes every year for as long as my son likes it. They are comfortable for him and the velcro is sturdy enough when he runs. Bought size 13 (a size up for 5yo) and size 1 for 1st grade. It is true to size.We ordered these at the beginning of the school year (August) and we need to order some more. The velcro on the top strap is not as great as when first purchased and the tip of the shoes is losing the material. But hey the kid is three so they lasted alot longer than we expected, especially since he has to wear them every day at school. These are good shoes but just know if you have a very active child they will wear out quickly. But any shoe will. I would rather spend this process then over $50 at the uniform shop.I ordered these on a friday and received them on sunday. Needed them for monday. So shipping was great. However, the first day my daughter wore these by the end of the day it they looked like she was crawling on a sidewalk all day (she is 4 years old). They were scuffed and brown on the toes. Also the crease in the toe was so bad I thought she was walking on her tippy toes all day. Like I said I got them quick but the quality is poor. She has had them for almost 8 days now and I feel like I need to purchase new ones already. I only purchased these because her school recommended I buy their shoes for $52.Great elementary school uniform shoes. The last pair did wear out before my daughter outgrew them, but I think they held up well considering they were worn and played in five days a week for almost six months.
