I was kinda nervous buying Reyes from Amazon but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw they were real. They do have to be broken in and it takes a while since the gloves are made out of quality materials, but once they’re broken in they feel great. They have a nice pop when hitting the bag, I would 100% recommend getting a pair of you want some nice Mexican gloves for this price point.Absolutely love these gloves! Got them in green and they're beautiful. I have had them for almost 2 weeks now and I think I have broken them in about 50%. They're the absolute best gloves I have owned, out of the many brands.I dinged this review by 1-star, largely so that if anyone else is buying a pair of purple gloves they may happen to see this review amongst all of the other 5-star ones. The grape color (like Barney purple) is an older style in the 14oz size, and the new purple is a very dark plum color. If you are specifically ordering this because you couldn’t find the Barney-purple anywhere else, clarify with the seller before you make the purchase that the color in the ad is actually what you will be getting. I purchased this same 14oz pair on eBay from a similar type of seller, using the same item listing image, and had the exact same issue, so apparently the factory is making a new version of purple that anyone shipping the product may not recognize is not the version of purple shown in many ads. In the picture I have included, the pair on the left is what I received when I purchased the “purple” color through this listing. The glove on the right is the color pictured in the ad (and is one of my 12oz pair). So, once you get past the color issue, there are not a ton of reviews written by women for these gloves, so if you may be on the fence, there are some points to consider. I used pink Everlast gloves for almost a decade and each lasted about 2 years of 5-7 hours of practice a week. I now have slightly messed up hands, so I couldn’t decide if I should buy these Cleto Reyes gloves or a Winning pair which are really good for people with injured hands because it’s like punching with a very pretty, very expensive, fluffy pillow.Since I couldn’t decide, I purchased both, with the grape color I wanted in the Cleto Reyes coming from a different site (and 12oz, not 14oz) and the purple Winning purchased on Amazon. I read a lot of reviews first, but until I actually had the chance to wear the gloves the reviews were not overly helpful. The best way I can describe the Cleto Reyes gloves is that they are a highly satisfying way to punch bags and people. They make this really fantastic slapping thud on the bag, and when you’re sparring, you feel the punches connect in a way that a more padded glove doesn’t give you. If you don’t have injured hands and you’ve been in the sport awhile, these gloves will make you smile, and maybe giggle in glee a little bit the first time you get to use them. I also did not have any issue with the different thumb placement that I have read about, although that is another reason it’s good to try them on before you buy them if that is an option. That being said, if you are new to the sport, using these gloves for all of practice is a good way to hurt your hands. If you’ve been in the sport awhile and you have somewhat messed up hands, it’s tough to put these away and use a more cushioned glove for longer workouts, but your hands will thank you. Also, depending on how hard your gym spars, these gloves are either awesome if you don’t like your training partners, or unnecessarily painful for the people you spar with, particularly if you are training for a fight and going at 70-80%. It’s like being hit with a pretty-colored, leather-covered brick. If you fight with them, you should still use them, but have someone wearing them hit you first so you know what the difference feels like. So…if you are set on the Barney-purple color, ordering it off this listing probably will not get you that color and you are going to be super bummed when you open the box. That is the only reason I dropped the review by a star. If you happen to be a woman buying these gloves, read the reviews, try them on first if you can, and don’t listen to anyone that has an opinion about whether or not buying “puncher’s gloves” makes you more awesome. You can knock someone out with pillows just as easily with the right technique, and if these feel like they are going to hurt your hands, remember that the other 22 hours of your day that you’re not at practice would appreciate if you can still bend your fingers in a few years. If anyone is wondering if the amazon ones are legit, they are.Comes with all the warning tags and has the serial numbers imprinted on them. The only issue is that they are really underweight or overweight(i ordered 2 blue 16oz pairs and they were all underweight about 1.2oz on each glove)But on the flip side I also ordered a pair of yellow 14oz and red 12oz gloves and they were off as well. The 14oz were exactly 14oz and the 12oz were 15oz.If you have time to do a lot of returns I would order a couple colors for the weight you want so you can check the weight at home and return the bad ones.I ended up keeping one of the underweight 16oz because I got lazy but I love them.I was nervous about ordering them through Amazon, but they came in such great condition! It was a gift for someone and the were very happy with them. I ordered the blue ones and the color was exactly as pictured and you can immediately tell it’s 100% by the looks and smell.I love these glove. It definitely is a punchers glove. Good hand protection. Love the firmness of the padding. Good knuckle protection.Quality is A+. Very comfortable and works well w the heavy bad and sparringA bit of a break-in period but they're great gloves. Not as soft as winning but they seem very durable and give you a little more pop. Wrap your hands carefully otherwise you'll hurt your handsI bought the green 16oz. Beautiful gloves!Back in 2010 i bought my first pair and they lasted me 6 years of sparring. I still have them today. They dont stink after using them for a long time like other gloves ive used, the inner lining does a good job keeping the sweat out of the foam. I bought a $80 pair of bag gloves (NOT CLETOS but another decent reputable brand) and after 1 month they were destroyed. Just spend the money and buy Cleto Reyes gloves because you will end up spending more cheaping out.Another thing i want to mention is that 4 months ago i bought the 16oz Extra Padding Cletos and though they are nice, they have a different shape than the regular trainning gloves (shorter cuff, and wider in the palm/knuckle.)I like the regular training gloves better and find there is enough padding in them.As luvas são espetaculares. A minha única crítica seria à logística do Amazon. Used for boxing 2 to 3 times a week. Great product and quality is very high compared to less premium gloves. Wrist cuffs provide lots of protection in sparring which is great compared to other glove styles.Would recommend for bag work, boxing fitness and for light/technical sparring.Gloves are quite firm at start but will break in over time. Colour is fantastic and eye catching! The whole world talked about these gloves as one of the best, but it's sooo uncomfortable, my hands are squeezed inside, can't feel my fingers after 10 minutes of training, I can't beleive I paid that much for these gloves...Muy buenos guantes! en verdad se nota la calidad, el guante estilo mexicano queda definido en éste modelo tradicional por excelencia, ajusta perfecto a el puño, ofrece un recubrimiento adecuado para la protección de la mano y no muy robusto para facilitar el conectar los golpes. He usado guantes de distintas marcas y obviamente el Guantes estilo Mexicano es perfecto si buscas potenciar tus golpes de poder!
